Last weekend Oklahoma State Patrol made one meth and two marijuana arrests in random traffic stops on Interstate 80, a road notoriously used by drug runners. In one bust, 23 pounds of methamphetamine were seized, estimated to be worth over $1 million. Police also made two marijuana arrests, with a combined weight of 47 pounds.
At about 10:45 p.m., a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was stopped for speeding. The lone driver, a one Omar Alexis Barguez Perez, age 35, of Bellflower, gave the trooper the go-ahead to search the vehicle. The trooper found 18 packages containing 23.3 pounds of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment within the vehicle. As mentioned above, the entire stash had an estimated street value of over $1 million.
Mr. Perez is now being held in the Lancaster County Jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with an intent to deliver.
Another eastbound car was pulled over for speeding just before 3:30 p.m., heading toward the Hampton exit in Hamilton County. A state patrol drug dog was summoned to the scene, and indicated that there was an odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. This gave the trooper probable cause to search the vehicle which led to the seizure of 27 pounds of pot, located in three duffel bags in the trunk.
The marijuana arrests included Kristopher Krey, age 40, the driver of the Nissan Maxima, of Round Lake, Illinois, and his two passengers, Mai Krey, age 45, also a Round Lake resident, and Alexander Henson, age 30, of McHenry, Illinois. Both individuals are now being held in the Hamilton County Jail for charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
At around 11.30 a.m., a 2013 Chevrolet Impala was pulled over by a state trooper for speeding, heading eastbound. The driver gave the officer the OK to then search the vehicle, which led to the seizure of 20 pounds of pot, found in two garbage bags in the trunk. The driver of the Impala was John Certeza, age 38, of Fairfield, California, and one passenger, Visakhane Nhothsiri, age 30, of Ceres, California. The two were being held in the Keith County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
